Cork University Hospital School (20119N) is a hospital school located in the Cork University Hospital, Wilton, Cork. It is a co-educational, multi-denominational, vertical school, catering for both Primary and Post-Primary pupils who are in-patients in the hospital with acute or chronic medical needs. The provision of education includes both 1:1 sessions at the bedside and in a small classroom setting. Pupils are a mix of those enrolled in both mainstream and special education settings.
To qualify for appointment candidates must be fully qualified and currently registered with the Teaching Council. A qualification to teach Maths at post-primary level, along with possessing a qualification to teach at least one other post-primary level subject, is essential. Experience teaching in a medical or special education setting is desirable. The candidate must be adaptable and flexible to provide for a diverse and transitory population of students, across a wide range of age groups. Candidates must be able to work on their own initiative and in a team capacity. Interviews are scheduled to be held on the 30th October.
Appointment is subject to Garda vetting, verification of qualifications, Statutory Declaration, medical fitness and reference checking.
