The Board of Management of Ardfert Central N.S. invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Deputy Principal.

Ardfert Central N.S is a co-educational vertical mainstream school with a special class for students with autism, 13 teaching posts and 8 Special Needs Assistants.

Recruitment and appointment procedures in accordance with DE Circular 0044/2019.

The roles and responsibilities for this post relate to the four domains of leadership and management as specified in Circular 0044/2019:

1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity.

Applicants should demonstrate:

An understanding and a commitment to the values, vision and Catholic ethos of Ardfert Central N.S. and an ability to support and promote school/community links
An in-depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum, a range of teaching experience and high level of understanding of SEN, EAL inclusion and differentiation.
An excellent level of understanding and knowledge of school leadership, management and administration in a primary school setting.
Involvement in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of school based initiatives and fund raising activities.
A proven ability to work collaboratively with all staff members, parents, Board of Management and the wider school community.
Proven experience in prioritising, planning and policy development is essential.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills required to lead and maintain a happy, active, and progressive school community.

Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a recognised primary school in Ireland
Appointment is subject, but not limited to, satisfactory references (please provide 3 referees), current and continuing Teaching Council registration, current Garda vetting requirements and Occupational Health Screening.
