The bus escort will accompany and support pupils with Autism in a mini bus/taxi from their home to and from school. The bus escort must be available in the mornings and afternoons, five days per week for the school year. The bus escort duties will include:
* Escorting the pupils safely to and from school
* Liaising with school staff/bus driver and parents/guardians when necessary
* Assisting the pupils to board and alight from transport safely and ensuring that the pupil is received by the responsible adult at each set down point
* Ensuring the pupil is seated and wearing a safety belt for the duration of the journey
The successful candidates will require good communication skills and have some experience of caring for/working with children with additional needs.
Experience working with children with Autism is desirable.

The posts is for 5 hours per week.
The bus escort should be available daily, in the morning from 8:45- 9: 15 and in the afternoon from 1:45 - 2:15.
The children will be arriving at school at 9.10am and will be going home at 2pm. The bus escort will meet the bus driver each morning and afternoon at Creagh NS. The hourly rate of pay is in line with the DES guidelines for school bus escorts.
