The Board of Management of Convoy Joint National School invites applications for the position of Principal teacher from 3rd November 2025.
Convoy Joint National School is a co-educational Primary school under the joint patronage of the Church of Ireland and the Presbyterian Church.
This is a mainstream school with four class teachers, and it is a base school for two SET posts, one of which is shared. There are 2.83 SNA positions.
The roles and responsibilities of this post relate to the four domains of Leadership and Management as specified in Circular 0044/2019.
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to supporting the Church of Ireland and Presbyterian ethos of the school.
Applications are invited strictly by post only for the attention of the Chairperson of the Board of Management, from teachers who are fully registered with the Teaching Council.
Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a primary school in the Republic of Ireland.
A minimum of 3 applications must be received in order for the process to proceed.
The appointment will be subject to Garda Vetting, satisfactory references, Occupational Health screening and the approval of the Patron.
Applications to be submitted by POST ONLY, envelope clearly marked 'Principal Application'.
