Solas Hospital School is co-located with the paediatric hospital, Children’s Health Ireland, Crumlin. As a hospital school we deliver education across various hospital settings, including both 1:1 sessions at the bedside and small multi-level groups in classroom settings. We provide an education service to children aged 4 to 18 yrs and across the full spectrum of educational needs.

Solas Hospital School is a child-centred, co-educational, multi-denominational, publicly accountable school which strives to provide high quality education to children attending Children’s Health Ireland, Crumlin as inpatients. The school caters for an average enrolment of 85 students that extend from primary to post primary.

The school operates within the regulations as outlined by the Rules for National Schools and relevant circulars and directives issued by the Primary / Special Education sections of the Department of Education. The school is funded by grants from the Department of Education. Staffing allocations are in line with those set out by the Department of Education.
