The Children’s Ark School is a special school funded and regulated by the Department of Education and Youth. This Hospital School is co-located with University Hospital Limerick and located in their Paediatric Unit.
Students at this school, aged 4-19 years, whose base schools are primary, post-primary and special, are children and adolescents who are managing medical and mental health conditions and who are receiving treatment in hospital.
The position advertised is for a fixed-term English, Science or Business teacher with another subject for 25 hours.
Please note that it is a special primary school and so the secondary school continues in June, until the final day of term (June 19th, 2026).
Appointment is subject to current Garda Vetting Requirements and Occupational Health Screening.
Start date: October 6th, 2025.

Successful candidates shortlisted for interview will be contacted by email.
Please outline in your letter of application how your skills/ experiences would suit a hospital school setting.
Experience in a special setting, special education teaching, multigrade teaching, working with an SNA, would be desirable.
