An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

The Board of Management seeks to hire a bus escort (taxi)
Applicant must be available in the mornings for first pick up at 8am until 9am approximately and in the afternoons for 1.40pm collection and 3:30 drop off approximately. These times are estimates and will be confirmed on establishment of the service by Bus Eireann.
The position is part-time for the times outlined above and are subject to change. The successful candidates will be employed for term time only, and not during holiday periods when the school is closed.
The contract is fixed term and will be reviewed and renewed annually; this is subject to ongoing sanction of the position by the Department, or until such a point as the service is terminated or no longer required, or the contract is terminated by the Board of Management for any reason outline in the Contract of Employment
The current hourly rate of pay is €15.66, paid monthly based on the hours worked on the route. The appointment is subject to Garda Vetting being obtained by the candidate.
Previous experience of working with children with Autism is desirable, particularly non-verbal children. Candidates must be fluent in English. Punctuality is essential, and regular attendance during term time is expected. The service cannot operate without the escort.
Responsibilities include
• Assisting children in getting on and off the bus/transport safely;
• Taking responsibility for the safety of the children for the duration of their journey to/from school, until they can hand over to school staff (drop off) and parent/guardian (return)
• Making sure all children are seated and wearing safety belts and any other safety equipment as required by individual children
• Build and maintain professional relationships with parents and school staff;
• Act as a liaison between Principal, Deputy Principal and / or class teacher and parents when required;
• Observe strict confidentiality in all aspects of work, and respect the privacy and dignity of the children
• any other duties relevant to the position of school bus escort which may be assigned by the Principal from time to time;
It is hope the escort will be able to commence as soon as the route is confirmed.
Interviews Tuesday 26th August, route commencing 28th August.
