Drumnigh Montessori Primary School is seeking a Montessori Lead Teacher to join our team to foster independence, curiosity, and community in our young students. This position is a fixed-term contract for the 2025-2026 academic year. In addition, this role includes service manager responsibilities which would suit an experienced lead teacher who wishes to progress in their career. We have a friendly, experienced team and a strong, supportive parent community. We welcome applications from qualified teachers who demonstrate a thorough understanding of Montessori principles.
Qualifications and Experience:
Montessori Diploma (3-6yrs classroom) qualification from AMI, St Nicholas, AMS, or equivalent is strongly preferred. (Candidates with qualifications in Early Childhood Education must show evidence of Montessori-specific training or work experience.
Qualification must be equivalent to QQI Level 6 or above)
Minimum one year of experience in a lead teacher role in a Montessori 3-6 yrs classroom setting is required. Some experience in a service manager/ECCE coordinator role would be an advantage.
Ability to assume the role of Person In Charge and LINC Inclusion Co-ordinator for our ECCE Service is a key component of this role.
An essential component for a successful teacher is the ability to keenly observe, care for, and nurture each child’s potential in a diverse community of young learners.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with parents and staff, digital literacy, and good organizational skills are key components to this role.
Ability to teach the Irish language (Gaeilge) curriculum is desired.
Certificates in LINC, First Aid, Children First, and Manual Handling (or working towards them) will be required.
Additional training or qualifications, would be a bonus, but not essential.
