An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
The bus escort will accompany students aged 5-8 years to and from the school each day. The hours are split between the morning and the afternoon. The successful candidates will be required to work prior to school start times to collect children from their homes and after school ends to drop children home. The start and finishing point for work each day will be St. Patrick's National School, Slane.
The successful candidates will work under the direction of the Principal/Deputy Principal.
The escorts will be responsible for the safety of the pupils on board the bus and will be required to assist them getting on and off the bus and securing appropriate seat belts.
Candidates will be expected to deal with parents and school staff in a professional way. They will need to communicate to parents and school regarding pickups, drop offs, illnesses, traffic, delays etc.
Salary Scale and Conditions of Service: In accordance with the regulations of the Department of Education and Skills- €15.50 per hour. Holiday pay of 8 % of hours worked is paid at Christmas, Easter and Summer holidays.
Experience of working with children essential. Experience of working with children with special needs desirable.
One position is for approximately 11.25 hours per week and the other is for 12.30 hours per week in line with the school calendar, but this is subject to change
Successful candidates are subject to Garda Vetting and reference checking.
