Eolas Breise:
Glengoole N.S. are seeking a committed individual to take on the role of Deputy Principal in our small, rural primary school. This is a leadership and teaching role. The successful candidate will support the Principal in managing the school, while also teaching in a multi-grade classroom.

The roles and responsibilities for this post relate to the four domains of leadership and management as specified in Circular 0044/2019:

1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity

The following skills, experience and knowledge are desirable:

 Understanding of and commitment to the ethos of a
Catholic school.
 Proven leadership skills, including policy development and
implementation.
 Previous teaching experience across a range of classes.
 Experience of teaching in a DEIS school and knowledge of
DEIS programmes and initiatives
 Proven ability to work as a member of a team, to manage and work collaboratively with all staff members .
 Experience in the development, implementation, operation
and evaluation of school-based initiatives, with a strong commitment to supporting the Principal in leading teaching and learning.
 Ability to promote a culture of learning and creativity in the
school.
 Ability to work collaboratively with the wider school
community.
 Willingness to undertake Continuous Professional
Development.
 Ability to partake in mentoring programmes and initiatives.

Appointment will be subject, but not limited to:
 Satisfactory references
 Current & continuing Teaching Council registration
 Current Garda Vetting requirements
 Occupational Health screening.
