The post is a post in special education, but is subject to change at the determination of the principal. This post consists of 20 hours SET and 5 principal release hours all based in Scoil Lua Naofa. Scoil Lua Naofa is a catholic school and the successful candidate must hold the appropriate certification to teach Catholic Religious Education.
Scoil Lua Naofa is seeking to employ a team player who is willing to contribute to the overall development of the school.
The following skills, experiences and qualifications are desirable;
• Probation
• Experience of teaching in a similar sized co-educational school.
• Third level post graduate qualification or evidence of ongoing CPD in special education would be advantageous.
Experience in the following areas would be advantageous;
• Aistear, Literacy Lift-Off, Student support files, IEPs, Standardised testing, Guided Reading, Running records, IT for SEN, Team-teaching in both literacy and numeracy.
• Interests / skills / experiences in PE / Sport are advantageous.
• Commitment to extracurricular activities would be advantageous.
Three copies of the application form should be submitted.
Applications should be clearly marked “Application for Special Teacher Post” on the outside of the envelope.
Non-compliance with the terms of the advertisement will automatically disqualify candidates.
Your application must also be accompanied by the contact details of at least 3 professional referees. Candidates called to interview will be required to provide proof of qualifications, Teaching Council Registration, current Garda Vetting requirements and Occupational Health Screening.
