The position is full time position. Working hours: Approximately 08:55 - 15:10.
Candidates should be energetic, enthusiastic, flexible, able to work on their own initiative and in a team capacity. All school staff are expected to engage in relevant CPD, respect the school ethos and to work as part of a team.
SNAs can be allocated to any SNA role in the school at any time, at the discretion of the school principal. Knowledge and experience of working with children with Autism is essential as we have two classes for children with autism. SNAs may be asked to work in the mainstream classes or Autism Classes.
An additional qualification in additional/special needs care and/or education, or related area, is advantageous.
Experience in working with children with epilepsy and diabetes is desirable.
Additional childcare and/or other relevant qualifications or courses (e.g. First Aid, Manual Handling, Positive Behaviour Support Strategies, PECS, LÁMH, etc) would be of great benefit.
Appointment is subject to current Garda vetting requirements, occupational health screening and completion of Children First online training.
