An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
The candidate should have experience in working with and an understanding of special needs and be able to deal with parents and staff in a professional manner.
Duties will include escorting children to and from school, assisting children to board and alight safely from the school transport and ensuring that each pupil is received by some responsible person at the school and home setting.
Previous experience working with children with special needs would be an advantage but is not essential. Include details of any training or previous experience or relevant qualifications in application.
Applicants must supply character reference, Garda Vetting Clearance and TUSLA Children First Training is mandatory.
The role is approximately 3 hours per day, 1.5hrs am and 1.5hrs pm i.e. 15 hours per week (to be confirmed) with rate of pay €15.50 per hour (+ 8% Holiday Pay). The routes have not yet been finalised but will be approximately 1.5 hours before school opening at 9.10am and 1.5 hours after school closure.
The start and end point has not yet been finalised.
Employment is during school term only.
The contract is for one school year.
Applicants are entitled to apply for Social Welfare entitlements during Summer closure.
Holiday pay is at a rate of 8% per hour worked and paid 3 times per year.
The post is a non-pensionable post. Interviews will be held in July.
Start date 1st September - induction during staff return on 29th August or 30th August in advance of start date.

The successful candidate must agree to uphold the Catholic ethos of the school.
Experience working/CPD with pupils with various care needs, EAL, First Aid, sensory / behavioural needs are all desirable.
