The Board of Management of Leckaun National School invites applications for the Acting Deputy Principal position to cover a career break. This is a teaching leadership role with responsibility for the Junior Classroom (Junior Infants – 2nd Class).
Leckaun N.S. is a small, rural, multi-grade vertical school with two mainstream class teachers and SET post. The Acting Deputy Principal will support the Principal in maintaining strong leadership and the smooth day-to-day running of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
The roles and responsibilities of this post will be aligned with the four domains of leadership and management as specified in Circular 0044/2019:
- Leading Teaching and Learning
- Managing the Organisation
- Leading School Development
- Developing Leadership Capacity
Desirable Skills, Experience, and Knowledge:
Proven leadership skills, including policy development and implementation.
Previous teaching experience across a range of classes in a multi-grade setting.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Ability to foster a culture of learning and creativity within the school.
Ability to collaborate effectively with all staff members and the wider school community.
Willingness to engage in Continuous Professional Development.
