Eolas Breise:
The Board of Management of Goatstown ETNS invites applications for the position of Deputy Principal. This is a permanent position commencing on Monday, 25th August 2025, appointed through open competition and in line with Circular 0044/2019.
Goatstown ETNS opened in 2019 and is a growing, values-based Educate Together school. We are committed to equality, inclusion and restorative practice. Relationships are central to how we work, and our staff team gathers each morning for a brief check-in to support collaboration and connection.
In 2025/2026, we will have mainstream classes from Junior Infants to Fifth Class and one autism class. The school is projected to grow to 16 mainstream classes and 4 autism classes. We are currently based at the Notre Dame Campus in Churchtown, but will eventually move to a new, purpose-built school on Goatstown Road beside Goatstown Educate Together Secondary School.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal as part of the senior leadership team to support the day-to-day running of the school and lead ongoing development. We are seeking a compassionate and collaborative leader who:
- Embodies the Educate Together ethos
- Is committed to inclusive, child-centred education
- Has experience or interest in restorative practices
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
- Values team culture and staff wellbeing
- Supports the learning and wellbeing of all pupils, including those in autism classes
Leadership experience across the four domains of the Looking at Our Schools 2022 framework will be considered:
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
Essential Requirements
- Fully registered with the Teaching Council under Route 1 (Primary)
- Experience teaching in a recognised primary school
