Eolas Breise:
This position is part-time 0.5 of a post (16 hours over five days). Hours of work based on the needs of the school. As with all positions in schools, SNAs can be assigned to any SNA position in the school at any time at the discretion of the school principal.
Placement may be in a mainstream class, Autism class or Moderate General Learning difficulties class.
Appointment is subject to Garda vetting requirements, Occupational Health requirements and completion of TUSLA Online Child Safeguarding Training Module. Applicants who are deemed to be part of the SNA supplementary panel, with supplementary panel rights must include a certified copy of the completed PF1 with their application.
Candidates must be able to work well as part of a team, be flexible, respect the school ethos and have a strong work ethic. They should also have experience working as an SNA in a classroom setting with students with complex needs.
Experience of working with children with Autism, moderate general learning difficulties and sensory needs is essential.
Experience working with students with emotional and behavioural difficulties, ADHD, and general learning difficulties is desirable.
Positions are subject to NCSE review.
The successful candidates may work with children:
A) who require support across a range of learning, sensory difficulties and/or intimate care needs
B) with Autism and complex needs, or Moderate General learning difficulties in one of our special classes.
Experience in Lámh and positive behaviour strategies is desirable.
Candidates should be: energetic, flexible, trustworthy, able to work on their own initiative and also as part of a team. They must be willing to undertake CPD courses which relate to the needs of the children & the school. Candidates will be required to fulfil all hours relevant to their day and contractual hours.
