Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Two SNA posts available as follows:
One x Full Time Permanent position
One x 0.5 Permanent position
The successful applicants will be required to work in a mix of Autism classes and Mainstream classes.
Experience working with pupils with Autism and communication difficulties is required.
Candidates must demonstrate practical experience with promotion of positive behaviour strategies as well as ability to work well within a team and display a strong work ethic.
Evidence of CPD in the area of Special Education is advantageous as well as displaying a commitment to ongoing CPD engagement.
Experience of working in a special school/special class setting and other relevant qualifications/courses as well as distinct knowledge in TEACCH, Lámh, PECS and Boardmaker is beneficial.
Appointment will be subject to, but not limited to, satisfactory references, compliance with current Garda Vetting requirements and Occupational Health Screening.
