Scoil Bernadette is a co-educational post-primary special school, which caters for the needs of students aged 12 – 18 years with mild general learning disabilities. The aim of the school staff is to provide a secure, caring and supportive environment, through the provision of post-primary social, personal, academic, vocational and relevant life skill programmes. We run Junior Cycle, Senior Cycle, LCA and other post primary adapted curricula to meet the needs of our students.
Our students present with other additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, Emotional/Behavioural Needs, etc. Knowledge and experience of teaching teenagers in a special school/class setting is desirable.
We have a number of posts available:
(1) Permanent post
(2) Fixed term full time post (arising from a career break)
(3) Maternity leave post (August 2025 - March 2026)
(4) Fixed term half a post (arising from a job share arrangement)
The appointments are subject to reference checks, Garda Vetting, Teaching Council Registration, BOM and Patron approval.
Please note that candidates who are called for interview may be placed on a panel for up to four months from which future vacancies may be filled as they arise. Successful applicants can be deployed to a range of roles within the school to meet the needs of our students.
