Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Drogheda ABACAS Special School is dedicated to providing education for autistic children with complex needs, aged 4 to 18. Candidates with experience working in a special school setting, specifically with autistic children, will have a distinct advantage.
We seek individuals who are competent in using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and assistive teaching technologies tailored for autistic students. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to work within and lead a class team, have experience working with behavioral support plans, and effectively manage behaviors of concern.
A solid understanding of the Continuum of Support and the Autism Good Practice Guidance documents is essential. We are looking for a teacher who is committed to delivering the highest level of education for our students and is willing to participate in in-school training and external continuous professional development (CPD) relevant to the needs of our pupils and the school.
Candidates must be registered with the Teaching Council.
The Board of Management is looking to recruit 2 permanent teachers, 1 fixed-term teacher & 1 maternity cover.

2. Fixed-Term Vacancies will also be filled from this selection process.
3. Applications must be received by 15.00 on 01-07-2025;
4. Interviews are scheduled to take place in July
