This advertisement invites applications from interested candidates for the following positions in The Monastery School for the 2025/2026 academic school year:
1. Fixed term Shared Special Education Teacher Post for the 25/26 school year. The teacher will be based in The Monastery Schools for 22.5 hours per week and shared with St. Francis N.S., Donohill for 2.5 hours per week.
2. Fixed term position for a Projected Enrolment Post (Mainstream position). This contract will expire on 31/10/25. With the enrolment numbers remaining at the required level, this post will be extended as a fixed term post until the end of the academic year - subject to panel
This round of interviews will also be used to appoint an additional Specific Purpose Contract (15 weekly part time language support hours)
Class placement is subject to change at the determination of the principal.
The Monastery School is seeking to appoint a team player with initiative who is willing to contribute to the overall development of the school
The following skills, experience and qualifications are desirable:
- Probation
- Experience of teaching in a similar sized DEIS school
- A demonstration of commitment to CPD
- Teaching children with a range of additional needs
- Teaching children with English as an Additional Language
- Experience with team – teaching and in-class support
- Experience with initiatives such as Nurture, Maths Recovery..etc
Applications should be clearly marked 'Teacher Application'.
Candidates called to interview will be required to provide proof of qualifications. Applicants for this post must have a Certificate to teach Religious Education.
Appointment will be subject to Teaching Council Registration, current Garda Vetting requirements and Occupational Health Screening.
