About Our School

Leixlip Educate Together National School is a newly established and rapidly developing primary school. We first opened our doors to eleven Junior Infants in 2019. Since then, we have grown steadily and, by September 2025, we expect to have approximately 210 pupils from Junior Infants to Sixth Class.

We are a vibrant, inclusive, creative and child-centred school with a strong focus on wellbeing. We are proud to have begun our journey as a Nurture School this year, and will also open our first autism class in September 2025.

We are currently seeking five fixed-term teachers who are enthusiastic about the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and evolving school community. We are looking for teachers who will be excited to join a developing school and who are eager to contribute to its continued growth and success.

We welcome applications from committed and caring professionals who demonstrate leadership, adaptability, positivity, initiative and creativity. A genuine understanding of, and commitment to the Educate Together ethos is essential.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who bring a range of interests and talents to their work and who value inclusive, child-centred approaches to teaching and learning. As a Droichead school, we also welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers.

The successful candidates will join a dedicated and supportive team of 15 teachers and 8 Additional Needs Assistants (ANAs), many of whom have joined in recent years as our school has grown.

Summary of Posts Available:

1 fixed-term post (mainstream), arising from projected enrolment

1 fixed-term post arising from a career break

1 fixed-term post arising from a job share arrangement

1 full-time fixed-term post in EAL (English as an Additional Language)

1 maternity leave position, until January 2026

Two of these fixed-term posts (Career Break and Job Share) are for the full school year.

The EAL post and the projected enrolment post are provisionally sanctioned until 24th October 2025. These posts may be substantiated or suppressed by the Department of Education depending on whether the school meets the projected enrolment by 30th September 2025.

If the enrolment figure is achieved, the projected enrolment post will become permanent and will subsequently be advertised as such. The EAL post will remain fixed-term for the remainder of the year.
