Scoil Chiaráin National School is a progressive, active and warm school community comprising of three mainstream class teachers, one shared special education teacher, two full-time Special Needs Assistants and one part-time secretary.

The following skills and experience are desirable:
A clear understanding of and commitment to the ethos of a Catholic Primary School.
An in-depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum, a range of teaching experience and high level of understanding of SEN, inclusion and differentiation.
An excellent level of understanding and knowledge of school leadership, management and administration in a primary school setting.
Involvement in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of school-based initiatives.
An interest in promoting extra-curricular activities (e.g. music, Ict and sport).
A proven ability to work collaboratively with all staff members, parents, Board of Management and the wider school community.
A proven experience in prioritising, planning and policy development is essential.
A commitment to and evidence of continuing and relevant professional development.
Excellent communication skills.
