We currently have a position for a bus escort for the 2025-2026 school year. The bus escort will accompany children on a bus from their home to and from Scoil Réalt na Mara in Cromane each day. The escort must be available in the mornings and afternoons, 5 days per week. (8.20am - 9.40am, 1.50pm – 3.45pm).

The ideal candidate will be:
· Responsible for assisting pupils on and off the bus and to ensure pupils’ safety when travelling
· Responsible for observing and supervising pupils when travelling
· Responsible for communication between home and school
· Sensitive and respectful in all dealings with pupils in the school, parents and bus drivers
· Enthusiastic, energetic and flexible
· In a position to rendezvous with the bus driver at an agreed location
· Available to work in keeping with the school calendar (182 school days)

Salary Scale: hourly rate as determined by the Department of Education and Skills (€15.50 per hour) processed fortnightly during school term time. Escorts are not paid over school holidays but receive holiday pay instead.

Relevant experience would be highly desirable. Appointment is subject to Garda vetting, Children First online training and appropriate character references.

We will also compile a panel of substitute Bus Escorts to cover possible absences arising over the school year 2025-2026.
