Drogheda ABACAS Special School is dedicated to supporting autistic children with complex needs, aged 4 to 18 years. The successful applicant will work under the guidance of the classroom teacher, principal, and clinical director.
Candidates must have significant experience working with pupils with autism and complex needs in a special school setting. They should be able to demonstrate practical experience in managing challenging behavior and promoting positive behavior strategies.
Experience with the TEACCH approach and knowledge of Lámh and AAC are essential. Applicants must also hold the qualifications required by the Department of Education and Skills for this position and demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development (CPD). It is important for candidates to possess the necessary skills to be an effective part of the class/school team.
Only applicants who are shortlisted for an interview will receive a response. Those who are called for an interview must be available to attend in person at the scheduled time and date.
The successful candidate will be subject to Garda vetting and occupational health screening
