Under the Patronage of the Brothers of Charity, St. Mary’s Special School is a co-educational school that caters for pupils, ages 4 - 18 years, who, on psychological testing, are found to be functioning within the level of Mild General Learning Disability. Many of our pupils have multiple disabilities.
We have also expanded to include 4 classes specifically for students with ASD and Mild/Moderate General Learning Disabilities.
We offer JCt programme and Senior cycle programme together with a modified Primary curriculum.
Staffing consists of: Admin Deputy, 3 APII posts, 12 class teachers, 3 specialist teachers, 22 SNAs, school secretary, caretaker and 17 bus escorts.
The school building has been recently renovated and has had an energy retrofit with heat pumps and solar panels.
