The Board of Management of Tiermohan NS, Donadea, invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Principal Teacher, to take effect from 29th September 2025.
Tiermohan NS is a Catholic School under the patronage of the Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin, Denis Nulty.
Tiermohan NS, is a co-educational, vertical, mainstream school, with 5 class teachers, 2 support teachers and 1 Special Needs Assistant. We also have a full time Secretary. This position arises as the current Principal is retiring after 27 years of Principalship in the school.

Applications are invited from fully registered teachers (under Route 1 (Primary) with the Teaching Council), and have minimum 5 years recognised teaching service , two of which must be in a recognised primary school within the Republic of Ireland.

The successful candidate will demonstrate :
- An understanding of and commitment to the Catholic ethos of Tiermohan National School and an ability to support and promote school-parish links.
- An in-depth knowledge of the Primary school curriculum and a broad range of
teaching experience.
- A high level of understanding and knowledge of special education needs and of
inclusion and diversity in education.
- Excellent management and communication skills.
- A commitment to and evidence of continuing and relevant professional development
-Proven leadership skills.
-Experience in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of innovative school-based initiatives.
-In-depth knowledge and experience of the primary curriculum at different levels and evidence of involvement in facilitating positive change through the school self-evaluation process (SSE).
-Knowledge and capacity to successfully lead and administer a school.
-Experience in prioritising, planning and organising workload.
- A clear and definite understanding of the four domains for leadership and
management in a school as set out in ' Looking At Our Schools 2022 - A Quality
Framework.'

Appointment is subject to current Garda Vetting, proof of Teaching Council Registration, satisfactory references, Occupational Health Screening and the approval of the Patron.
