Bohermore National School is a co-educational primary school with a Catholic ethos and is under the patronage of the Archbishop of Cashel & Emly.
It is a mainstream school with 4 special classes.

We invite applications for 2 teachers for maternity leave cover.

Desirable experience:
- Knowledge of the practicalities of running a class for pupils with social, behavioral and communication difficulties arising from an autism diagnosis.
- a dedication to the promotion of inclusion and reverse inclusion where possible.
- Knowledge of TEACCH, PECS, ABA, positive behavior strategies and the management of behaviours of concern and challenging behaviours would be a distinct advantage.
- The ability to work effectively with the class team, support staff, the wider school community, multi-disciplinary teams, parents/guardians etc, as well as a strong work ethic is highly desireable,
- A strong knowledge of the Continuum of Support process as well as a passion for highly differentiated teaching is highly desireable.
- Evidence of CPD in the area of Special Education is advantageous as well as displaying a commitment to ongoing CPD engagement.
- Integrating with special class children, experience with autistic children and children with additional needs is highly desireable.
- Epilepsy training and certification is desireable.

Appointments are subject to vetting requirements, occupational health screening and a recognised certificate to teach RE.
The appointment is also subject to satisfactory references and Teaching Council Registration.
