Established in September 2019, Goatstown Educate Together National School is a rapidly developing, mainstream, vertical primary school. For the academic year 2024/2025, we have Junior Infants, Senior Infants, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th class and one ASD Class.
We are a restorative, equality, and values-based primary school committed to building relationships and responding to conflict healthily.
Position: Additional Needs Assistants (ANA)
Please note that we use the term "Additional" rather than "Special," hence the successful candidate will be referred to as an "Additional Needs Assistant (ANA)."
Available Position:
1. Full-time ANA post in our new ASD Class (08:00 to 14:20)
ANAs are required to work 72 Croke Park hours outside of school time on a pro-rata basis. Allocation to any ANA role in the school can be adjusted at the discretion of the school principal.

Criteria for Applicants:
1. Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum qualification: Grade D (or pass) in Irish, English, and Mathematics in the Intermediate Certificate/Junior Certificate or the Day Vocational Certificate Examination or equivalent.
- Additional qualifications in special needs care and/or education, including autism, are highly advantageous.
- Additional relevant qualifications or courses (e.g., First Aid, Manual Handling, Positive Behaviour Support Strategies, PECS) are desirable.
2. Experience with Special Needs:
- Required: Experience working with children with Autism, ADHD and/or sensory processing disorder.
- Desirable: Experience with pupils with EBD, ODD, ADHD, school refusal, Down Syndrome, Dyspraxia, and/or intimate care needs.
3. Skills:
- Flexibility, teamwork, and initiative.
- Strong communication skills and personal values aligned with the Educate Together ethos.
