St. Peter’s National School Athlone is actively seeking to recruit a School Transport Bus Escort.
We require a bus escort to accompany pupils with Additional needs on our SEN school bus. This position will require availability to work 5 days per week for 2 hrs minimum per day.

The escort should be available between 8.15 am - 9:20 am in the mornings and between 2.15pm – 3.30pm in the afternoons (subject to change).

The hourly rate of pay is €15.20 per hour, in line with the Department of Education guidelines for school bus escorts.

Good communication skills are essential and experience of caring for/working with children with additional needs is desirable. The successful candidate will be:
 Responsible for assisting pupils in and out of the bus and to ensure pupils' safety when travelling
 Responsible for observing and supervising pupils while travelling
 Responsible for communication between home and school.
 Observe confidentiality in all aspects of work.
