Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Bus Escort will accompany the student on a taxi/bus from home to St. Nathy’s College in the morning and from St. Nathy’s College to home at the end of the school day.
The escort is responsible for the safety of the student on board the bus/taxi and will be required to provide student care needs including but not limited to assisting the student getting on and off the bus/taxi, securing appropriate seat belts, etc.
The Bus Escort is required to ensure a safe handover to the SNA in the morning, and to parents/guardians in the afternoon.
The Bus Escort is accountable at all times to the Principal/Board of Management of St. Nathy's College.


Requirements of the post:

The Bus Escort must be available in the mornings and in the afternoons (approx 7:45am-8:55 am, and again from 3:45 pm - 4:35pm Monday to Thursday and 7:45am -8:55am and again 1:15pm -2:15pm on Friday). These times will be confirmed once the route is confirmed.
The Bus Escort must have their own transport to and from the pick-up and drop off point
Professionalism, discretion and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Experience of working with students with additional needs
Ability to communicate effectively with parents/guardians, the student, teachers, SNAs, Principal and the driver
Excellent interpersonal skills
Reliable, punctual, kind, caring and patient
The appointment is subject to Garda Vetting, Children First online training and appropriate references.
School Transport Bus Escort posts are subject to NCSE approval.
Number of hours per day: 3 hours Rate of pay: €13.40 per hour
Commencement Date: 8th October 2024
Term Time 8th October 2024 - 31st May 2025
