Saplings Special School are inviting applicants for a fixed term position beginning 14/10/2024. The successful candidate will cover a maternity leave and any extended maternity related leave.

Saplings Special School is an evidence-based school for pupils with Autism and Complex Needs from the ages of 4-18 years. We have 5 classrooms catering for a total of 30 students. We value individualised, evidence based education and assessment. A post in Saplings Carlow is a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to work as part of a dedicated team of highly qualified and motivated teachers and SNA's. Staff interact with professionals from cross-disciplinary teams delivering individualised evidence-based educational programmes.

Applicants should have experience working with autistic individuals, as well as experience of working with students with behaviours of concern within a special school setting.

Experience working with children with autism in an educational setting is essential. Background or experience in ABA, TEACCH, PECS, LAMH is an advantage.
