Experience working as a SNA in an ASD class setting and familiar with strategies around supporting a child with ASD is desirable.
A proven ability working as a team is essential, with a focus at all times on safety, welfare and care of pupils. An ability and willingness to develop pupil specific resources in consultation with the class teacher is important, such as sensory integration resources, sensory play resources and movement/art based interventions. Experience of working with children with ASD, OT needs, emotional/behavioural difficulties and intimate care/ toileting needs is desirable.
Candidates must be flexible and demonstrate a willingness to avail of further training.
