St. Flannan's National School, Rathcabbin, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary is a vertical co-educational school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Killaloe, Bishop Fintan Monaghan. The present teaching staff comprises of three Mainstream Class Teachers, and one Special Education Teacher.
The roles and responsibilities for the post are set out in the four domains of Leadership and Management as specified in DoE Circular 0044/2019, Chapter 4.
1. Leading Teaching and Learning.
2. Managing the Organisation.
3. Leading School Development.
4. Developing Leadership Capacity.
In addition, the following skills are desirable:
• Proven leadership skills, including policy development and implementation and prioritising, planning and organising
• Evidence of continuing and relevant professional development
• Organisational capabilities in managing school resources
• An in-depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and previous teaching experience across a range of classes
• Ability to manage and work collaboratively with all staff members and the Board of Management.
• An ability to foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff, the Board of Management and wider school community.
• Understanding and knowledge of Special Educational Needs, inclusion and diversity in education
• An understanding and a commitment to the school’s Catholic ethos.
A minimum of 3 eligible applications are required for this competition to proceed.
