An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Caherelly NS is a Catholic School. The successful candidate must hold the appropriate Certificate to teach Catholic Religious Education. Caherelly National School is a mixed, Catholic school with an Autism class.

This vacancy is for a one-year Fixed Term contract. It is a mainstream position but may be subject to change at the discretion of the Principal at any stage.

Experience of teaching children with Autism in a primary special class or special school setting is essential. A great understanding of autism and experience of managing challenging behaviours is preferable.

Applicants should be diligent, enthusiastic & innovative teachers who are willing to get involved in our whole school community and contribute to the overall development of the school.

~Applications must be accompanied by the contact details of a minimum of 3 professional referees. Referees must be available during holiday period.

Appointment will be subject to Teaching Council Registration and current Garda Vetting requirements.
