St. Michael's House Special National School Skerries is a school for pupils/students with a Moderate General Learning Disability and multiple disabilities including Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome and hearing and visual impairments.

From late August there will be an administrative Principal, an administrative Deputy Principal, 5 teachers (2 primary, 3 senior) and 19 SNAs in the school. The school caters for children from 5 to 18 years of age.

Essential Criteria:
Applicants should be fully qualified as an SNA with Level 5 and/or Level 6. Additional qualifications are welcome.

Desirable Criteria:
Experience working in a special education setting/special class
Experience / training in augmentative and alternative forms of communication (PECS, Lamh)
Experience working with behaviours of concerns
Experience devising IEPs as a class team
Knowledge of Child Protection
Experience working with a class team (teacher/SNAs)

This position is shared with a permanent SNA is the school. Your part-time working hours are 2 days one week and 3 days the other. The 2 days are Thursdays and Fridays. The second week will be Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. You may also sub in school on the days you ae off. Attendance for staff training and meetings is essential to fulfil and upkeep requirements.
