St. Michael's House Special National School Skerries is a school for pupils/students with a Moderate General Learning Disability and multiple disabilities including Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome and hearing and visual impairments.

From late August there will be an administrative Principal, an administrative Deputy Principal, 5 class teachers (2 primary, 3 senior) and 19 SNAs in the school. The school caters for children from 5 to 18 years of age.

Essential Criteria:
Applicants should be fully qualified and currently registered with the Teaching Council. This can be either with Primary or Secondary Teacher qualifications. Experience teaching in a special education setting/special class, familiarity with technology is preferred.

Desirable Criteria:
Experience working with behaviours of concerns
Experience devising IEPs
Experience dealing with children with complex needs
Experience managing a class team of SNAs
Experience communicating with parents/guardians
Strong knowledge of Child Protection duties and requirements
Experience / training in augmentative and alternative forms of communication (PECS, Lamh)
