St. Vincent's NS, Coolarne is a vertical co-educational school under the patronage of the Archbishop Francis Duffy, Archbishop of Tuam. The school seeks to appoint a teaching principal beginning on the 8th January 2024.
The successful candidate will need to continue to lead and strengthen the Catholic ethos of the school. Applicants must be fully registered with the Teaching Council and have a recognised qualification to teach religion in a Catholic school.
The present teaching staff comprises 1 teaching principal, 3 class teachers and 2 SETs (1 full time SET teacher and one shared SET).
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with the strong inter-personal skills that are required to lead and maintain a happy, active and progressive school community. Fostering links with the wider community is essential.
This school always strives to provide a child-centred, happy and safe environment for all it's pupils to learn and develop to the best of their individual strengths and abilities. In addition to high academic expectations pupils are provided with opportunities to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
It is the policy of St. Vincent's NS to foster self-esteem and empathy and to value all individuals for their uniqueness and difference. High standards and expectations are promoted with efforts and initiative recognised.
The roles and responsibilities for this post are set out in the four domains of Leadership and Management as specified in DoE Circular 0044-2019, Chapter 4.

4. Developing Leadership Capacity.
Candidates should have current and continuing Teaching Council registration and show evidence of commitment to ongoing Professional Development.
They must have an in-depth knowledge and experience of SEN. Candidates should be able to foster the involvement of parents within the school community as well as a commitment to inclusion and diversity.
The appointment will be subject to current vetting requirements and occupational health screening.
