Scoil Chroí Íosa is a co-educational Catholic Primary School under the patronage of the Bishop of Cloyne. The school caters for children from Junior Infants to Sixth Class on a dual campus. The school has Developmental Language Disorder Class (Speech and Language Class). The school has approval for new school building.
This post is for an ADMINISTRATIVE Principal.
Applicants must be fully registered with the Teaching Council and have a recognised qualification to teach religion in a Catholic school. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a commitment to continue to lead and strengthen the Catholic Ethos of our school.
The roles and responsibilities of the post are determined by the four domains of leadership and management as set out in Circular 0044/ 2019.
1. Leading Teaching and Learning.
2. Managing the Organisation.
3. Leading School Development.
4. Developing Leadership Capacity.
The following skills, experience and knowledge are desirable:
1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that facilitate strong leadership and teamwork.
2. Proven leadership skills with ability to build and lead a team.
3. Evidential experience of managing people (in any setting).
4. Commitment to Catholic Ethos.
5. An in-depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and a broad range of teaching experience.
6. A high level of understanding and knowledge of Special Education Needs and of inclusion and diversity in education.
7. Experience in prioritising, planning and organising workload.
8. An ability to promote a culture of care, respect and learning.
9. Experience in policy formation and implementation.
10. Experience in development, implementation, operation and evaluation of innovative school-based initiatives.
11. A commitment to, and evidence of, continuing and relevant professional development.
This is an open competition. All applications must be received by post no later than 3 p.m. on 12th October 2023 to the school’s postal address.
Clearly mark envelope “Principal Teacher Application” and address to Chairperson, Board of Management. Please submit three copies of your application and attach application requirements.
A minimum of five applicants is required for the recruitment process to proceed.
