The Board of Management invites expressions of interest for the position of Bus Escort for 2023-24.

This role is a part-time position to facilitate transport of students.

Applicants would need to be available before and after school during weekdays.

The successful applicant will be required to work approximately three hours daily, depending on the route, at Department of Education rates. The hours will be confirmed when the bus route is confirmed. The successful candidate will need to work every day that the school is open.

The job of a bus escort entails the following duties :
*ensuring the safe transition of pupils with special needs from their homes to school and home again each day.
*ensuring that each student is received by some responsible person at the set down point.
*liaising with parents and staff daily.
*ensuring all children are safe on school transport. (seating, harnesses, seat belts etc)
*the successful applicant will be required to work for approximately three hours daily at Department of Education rates. The hours will be confirmed when the bus route is confirmed. It could be between 10-15 hours approximately.
*the successful candidate will be required to work every day the school is open.
*the appointment is subject to Garda vetting requirements. (by the school).
*Child Safeguarding online training with TUSLA.

Additional relevant qualifications or courses would be beneficial (e.g. First Aid, Manual Handling, Positive Behaviour Support Strategies)

Depending on need, there may be more than one position and we will be forming a panel if necessary.
