An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Foxfield is a special school under the patronage of St. Michael's House. The school caters for pupils from the ages of 4 - 18 who have a dual-diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and a Global Developmental Delay. The staff comprises of 11 Special Class Teachers, 40 SNAs, a Behaviour Analyst, Bus Escorts, Secretaries and Caretakers. The successful candidate must be registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland, be fully Garda Vetted and will be subject to occupational health screening.
Our school has Secondary topped status (therefore post-primary teachers are also eligible to apply) and is currently bi-locating between Kilbarrack and Swords, in preparation for our new school build on our Swords campus.

The roles and responsibilities of this post relate to the four domains of leadership and management as specified in DES Circular 0044/2019.
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity

In addition to this it is expected that the successful candidate will display the following attributes:
- Knowledge and experience of SEN and Autism
- A commitment to promote and maintain an Ethos of Inclusion for SEN
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, both in leadership and teamwork
- The ability to foster relationships with all stakeholders
- Proven leadership skills, including policy development and implementation
- A strong work ethic, motivation and enthusiasm to lead
- The ability to encourage and foster the involvement of parents/guardians and the wider school community in school activities as appropriate
