The Management of the Libermann Spiritan School Templeogue (LSST) wishes to appoint a Teaching Deputy Principal Teacher commencing 12th December 2022. LSST is a new special school initially catering to students who have a diagnosis of autism with complex needs.
Initial Enrolment: Enrolment will commence during 22/23 academic year and will not exceed 24 students in that year.
LSST, underpinned by Spiritan values, is dedicated to educational inclusivity and excellence, and is under the patronage of the Catholic Archdiocese of Dublin.
The Deputy Principal occupies a position of vital importance within the senior leadership team in a school. The roles and responsibilities of the post are determined by the four domains of leadership and management as set out in the Department of Education Circular Letter 44/2019 and the recently updated ‘Looking at our Schools’ document.
The relevant domains are:
Leading Teaching and Learning.
Managing the Organisation.
Leading School Development.
Developing Leadership Capacity.
The following skills are desirable:
Evidence of continuing and relevant teacher professional learning and development
Understanding and knowledge of special educational needs, and autism.
Applicants must be fully registered under Route 1 (Primary), Route 4 (Other) or Route 2 (Post-Primary) with the Teaching Council and have 5 years recognised teaching service, two of which must be in a recognised primary school or post-primary school within the Republic of Ireland.
All applications should be received by email on or before Friday, 4th November 2022 by 5 pm. Applications received after 5 pm on 4/11/22 will not be considered.
An appointment will be subject to but not limited to satisfactory references, current and continuing Teaching Council registration, current Garda vetting requirements, and occupational health screening. If the successful candidate does not already have religious education as part of their degree, they will be required to complete an approved certificate in religious education qualification within two years of appointment to the position of deputy principal of LSST. The Board reserves the right to readvertise this position
