The Board of Management of Divine Mercy JNS invites applications for the position of Deputy Principal. We are an Urban DEIS Band 1 Junior School of 250 pupils with a teaching staff of 26 and 6 SNAs. This is a key leadership role in the school and will be of interest to teachers who are committed to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment for students who experience social disadvantage. The Deputy Principal will work in collaboration with the Principal and the ISM to ensure the effective management of the school, that there is strong leadership across the school, that all pupils have a positive educational experience and that the school fully conforms to the governance structures as set out by the Department of Education.

The appointment will be made under the terms of Circular 0044/2019, is an open competition and the roles and responsibilities for this post relate to the four domains outlined within “Looking at our School 2022: A Quality Framework for Primary Schools”:

2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
