An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Scoil Triest is a Catholic Co-Educational Special School under the patronage of Brothers of Charity. Scoil Triest caters for students aged 12 to 18 years who have a dual diagnosis of ASD and an Intellectual Disability in the mild to moderate range.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for the management of 12 teaching positions, 6 additional Specialist teachers, 38 special needs assistant positions and additional part-time staff members including bus escorts and ancillary staff.
Applicants must comply with the eligibility criteria for appointment to Principalship as set out in Circular 02/02 from the Department of Education and Skills.
Additional qualifications and experience in Special Education Management and Leadership are highly desirable.
Applicants should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have a good understanding of management of H.R. related issues.A detailed knowledge of Special Needs Education, pedagogy associated with ASD, specific methodologies , management of challenging behaviours and knowledge of Junior Cycle Level 1 and 2 are essential.
