The Single Manager(s) of Our Lady of Hope School invite applications for 2 Bus Escorts for a number of routes in South Dublin, including Clondalkin, Lucan, Tallaght and surrounding areas. These are part-time positions until the end of June 2022.
Our Lady of Hope School is a new Special School under the patronage of the Catholic Archbishop of Dublin, Dermot Farrell. The school is located in the refurbished premises of Scoil Colm, Armagh Road, Crumlin, Dublin 12.
Most routes will take from 3 – 4 hours daily and will provide transport for pupils ages 4 – 18 years who have a diagnosis of Autism and Complex Needs.
The school day is from 9.00 a.m. – 2.40 p.m.
Experience working with pupils who have been diagnosed with Autism and Complex Needs is an advantage.
The current hourly rate of pay, set by the Department of Education, is €13.40.
The Bus Escort will make sure that all aspects of safety are carried out effectively.
Responsibilities will include that the Bus Escort:
• Ensures the safety of all pupils on the bus while they are being transported from home to school and vice versa
• Attends training when provided and required
• Ensures that all pupils are seated with appropriate seat belts/straps and harnesses where provided
• Assists pupils to board and alight safely from the school transport
• Ensures that each pupil is received by a responsible person at the set down point
All appointments will be subjected to Garda Vetting requirements and Occupational Health Check.
