Naíonra Seomra Mary is an Irish language pre-school and link (1.30-2.30) afterschool service on the grounds of Gaelscoil Thaobh na Coille, Beallairmín, An Chéim, B.Á.C. 18.
We are currently recruiting for two positions relief childcare practitioner to cover sick/absentee leave and a room leader. The successful candidates will work in partnership with the team and management for the efficient running of the service. These are term time contracts. There will be an Irish language component to the interview.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Childcare Practitioners will:
Encourage and support the use of Irish language within the service
Supervise and monitor the safety of children in their care
Work with Management to ensure the smooth efficient running of the preschool service
Be responsible for ensuring and maintaining that paperwork is completed to be compliant with that needed for inspections.
Work as part of the team.
To follow our Naíonra play based ethos and curriculum, organise and plan daily/weekly activities that allow children to learn about the world around them and explore their interests.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATEs MUST HAVE
Have a fluency in Irish, a friendly, caring nature with a passion for working with children
Qualified with a minimum Level 5 (Relief) and Level 7 (room leader) in Early Childhood Studies
Relief Position might suit those in final year of college who can obtain a letter from DCEDIY for compliance to work.
Experience a bonus but not essential as successful applicants will learn from an experienced team.
Knowledge in current legislation & quality standards
Excellent communication in Irish and English & interpersonal skills
Ability to work well in a team as well as use their own initiative
Up to date training in Manual Handling. First Aid and Food Hygiene - or be willing to complete.
Police Clearance if they have lived outside Ireland for 6 months or more.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo Garda Vetting.
