Cur síos:
The Educational Policy and Development Officer will focus on leading and supporting the development of a Patrons’ Curriculum for ETB Post-Primary schools. Community National Schools already have a Patrons’ Curriculum (Goodness Me, Goodness You!). Further details on this curriculum can be found at https://cns.ie/goodness-me-goodness-you-new/

The Educational Policy and Development Officer will:
• Develop a Patrons’ Curriculum for Junior Cycle for ETB Post-Primary Schools to provide a continuation of the Goodness Me, Goodness You! (GMGY) curriculum provided in ETB Primary Schools (Community National Schools)
• Develop curriculum and assessment specifications with a focus on expectations for learners, including outcomes and samples of student work;
• Prepare working papers, discussion documents, draft reports and other such documentation in relation to the Patrons’ Curriculum;
• Provide secretariat support to the Task Group established to oversee the work on the Patrons’ Curriculum;
• Carry out an audit on Post-Primary curricula to ensure that the Patrons’ Curriculum complements rather than overlaps with other specifications/courses/subjects;
• Organise and develop consultation events with the sector in relation to the Patrons’ Curriculum;
• Engage with relevant research and literature to inform developments;
• Work directly with schools, management and teachers to gather feedback on draft content and support materials;
• Lead the development of information and support materials for students, parents, teachers and schools;
• Support the publication of online content on ETBI’s website and keep it up to date
• Support the overall work of the CNS and ETB Patronage Directorate.
