Two Full Time Fixed-Term Temporary Posts and one Full Time Cover maternity leave:
The Board of Management of School of the Holy Spirit seeks applications from suitably qualified SNAs for the above positions. Salary and conditions as per the Department of Education & Skills.
School of the Holy Spirit is a special vertical school for students with Autism and/or Emotional Behavioural Difficulties. Enrolment is 84 students aged between 4-18 years. There are 15 Teachers and 31 SNAs on staff. 7 classes are at primary level and 7 classes are at secondary level.
Applicants must have significant experience (minimum at least 2 years) of working in a special school environment as part of a special class team with students who have a primary diagnosis of Autism.
Experience in essential competencies should include assisting with intimate care, positive behaviour support, and enabling pupils to access therapies. Experience in assisting pupils access to Multi-sensory Integration Programmes would be a distinct advantage.
They should present with a level of general personal suitability for this school.
Qualifications in the following courses are desirable due to the specialised nature of the work in this school:
• Fetac Level 5 Childcare or equivalent qualification
A panel of suitable applications may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a one year period from the date of the advertisement. Suitable applicants may also be invited to join a substitute panel of SNAs.
