Applicants are invited for the post of Principal of St. Francis Special School, New Road, Portlaoise Roll No. 19337Q. St Francis is a Catholic School, under the patronage of the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a commitment to continue to lead and strengthen the Catholic Ethos of the school. St Francis is a Special School for pupils aged between 4 and 18 years of age with mild and moderate general learning disability (including co-occurring needs). We have 12 Teachers, 17 SNAs, 3 Ancillary Staff and we have approx. 15 bus escorts. St Francis School will move to a new site in the near future.

Applicants must be registered with the Teaching Council and have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience in recognised schools. The competition will proceed if there are 3 or more applicants.

Time spent in a Special School setting and proven leadership experience is highly desirable.
