St. Colman's Boys National School seeks an enthusiastic and experienced Special Needs Assistant.
Experience assisting children with A.D.H.D., A.S.D., moderate autism and flight risk in a primary school setting necessary.
Experience and training in communication needs (Lámh), feeding care, toileting care and equipment desirable.
Practical experience with the management of challenging behaviour and promotion of positive behaviour strategies preferable.
Candidates must have a proven record of being highly motivated, flexible and personable.
Candidates must be able to work well within a team, display a strong work ethic and demonstrate a willingness to avail of further training.
This position will involve working closely with the class teacher and other staff in support of children with special needs. It will require working with one or more children with special needs
during the school day.
The successful candidate will be expected to respect the confidentiality of the students at all times.
Experience in First Aid is desirable.
Duties as per Circular 0030/2014.

The successful candidate will be subject to current vetting requirements and Occupational Health Screening
