The Red Door School are looking to appoint an escort on school bus service Tallaght – Monkstown.
We are also seeking to appoint a panel of relief escorts for other routes (Foxrock-Monkstown, Ballsbridge-Monkstown, Lucan-Monkstown)
The escort will accompany a pupil or pupils on specialised bus transport from their homes to and from the school. The bus escort must be available in the mornings from approximately 8.00am to 9. 30am (school starts at 9.20) and from 2.00 pm to 4.00pm (school finishes 3pm) throughout the school calendar year. Escorts must have their own transport to and from drop-off point.
The person must have a caring disposition. The escort will be responsible for the safety of the pupils on board the bus and will be required to assist them getting on and off the bus and securing appropriate seat-belts and harness straps.
Experience in working with children with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders is desirable. Candidates need to be able to deal with parents and school staff in a professional way- may need to communicate regarding pick ups/drop offs, illnesses, traffic delays etc.
Appointment is subject to garda vetting and appropriate character references.
Hourly rate of pay will be €13.07 per hour. Bus Escorts are not paid during school holidays. Wages are paid on a fortnightly basis
